Playmat Materials:
Playmats are divided into two materials (Standard vs. Cloth) plus an additional option (Stitched Edges)
Standard playmats have the smooth, mousepad-like texture that you're used to. This option has a slick surface and sharp image quality.
Cloth playmats instead have a soft, felt-like texture. Your cards are less likely to slide around, but the image is sometimes a bit fuzzier due to the softer surface.
Adding stitched edges to your playmat reinforces the edges to avoid fraying. It's not necessary, but it can add to the durability and premium feel of your mat.
In addition, every playmat has a rubber bottom (again, like a mousepad) except the "Cloth (No Rubber Back)" option; these playmats are pure fabric, so they're easier to fold, wash, and transport.
Custom Designs:
I offer custom designs for playmats & sleeves. The prices and availability fluctuate, but the general layout is like this:
Full Playmats: ~$55
These designs features unique panels in every zone, along with background images. These usually take the longest.
Manga Playmats: ~$35
These designs feature a set of non-colored panels in a manga layout, with 1 full-color image overlayed on top. They're a bit simpler, and work better for characters who don't have as much screentime.
Color Playmats: ~$10
These designs are minimalistic, and don't take much time. They feature a standard Color Mat layout with one panel of a character in the center.
Sleeves: ~$30
Design Process:
I'll talk back and forth with you via email or Discord to show you progress and make sure the final design fits your vision.
The cost of design work doesn't account for the price of the product itself. I can send you the full-res images if you want to print your design elsewhere, or I can offer a small discount code if you choose to order it through my shop.
In the end, I reserve the right to reuse any parts of your design to upload to the shop. There's no guarantee your design will be exclusive, but you can always request specific details that you like.
In general, I charge a bit more for playmat designs that are less likely to resell (e.g. characters without Leaders, or groups of seemingly unrelated characters) and I charge more for designs unrelated to OPTCG.
